Boards - Commissions - Committees

The City of Sierra Vista’s boards, commissions, and committees assist the City Council in making important policy decisions that impact the community. These advisory groups research, study, and discuss specific issues with both short- and long-term implications, and forward their recommendations to the City Council. Because citizen involvement and input are essential to the success of local government, the city encourages residents to consider serving on one of the many boards, commissions, and committees. Applications for appointment are pooled in a "talent bank" from which the City Council fills vacancies by a majority vote.
