The West End of Sierra Vista is the oldest community within the City of Sierra Vista. West Sierra Vista provides unique shopping, dining, and historical qualities for the community, but also presents redevelopment challenges and it continues to age. For the last several years residents, business owners, and the City have focused on revitalizing this area of the City; understanding not only the West End's significance as the entryway into the City, but also the importance of this area of town to facilitate small business ownership and entrepreneurship.
West Sierra Vista is defined as the area extending west of Seventh Street to its Fort Huachuca boundary, Buffalo Soldier's Trail, and north of Golf Links Road to State Highway 90. This area grew up around the Main Gate of Fort Huachuca, and comprises most of the original area that made up Sierra Vista when first incorporated in 1956.
If you are considering developing property on the West End you have come to the right place. The West End provides tremendous economic opportunities to leverage the resources of the largest employer in Southeast Arizona - the U.S. Army Base Fort Huachuca. Developers, investors, and property owners are taking notice as there has been an increase in development such as hotels and office buildings. As more people come to the West End to visit and work, there is an increase in other business activities and opportunities for restaurants and retail development.

Capitol Improvements
The City is committed to improving the West End with Public dollars. Recent projects include the Cyr Center Park. |
Cyr Center Park
The former Sierra Ready Mix site was generously donated by the Cyr family for a future park. The Sierra Vista Animal Control Facility has been relocated and before long so will the City's Recycling Center, making the entire area available for the future Cyr Center Park.
Over the years, City residents have told us they need more multi-use facilities for soccer, football, baseball and softball. This new park in your neighborhood is an ideal location to include soccer and football playing fields.
